The Operations Manager (OM) is a multi-skilled position requiring customer service skills, leadership, and knowledge of agroforestry. The primary objective is to be responsible for the operation of Food & Forest at Borough Market. This requires the OM to understand and implement high standards of food safety at the stall with a responsibility for all staff whilst representing the company. The OM will be the face of the company, representing the work to the public. The OM must also develop an in-depth understanding of the company and its aims as a social enterprise. Communication of these goals is essential to both staff, visitors, and market managers.
Management experience in hospitality – kitchen or front of house.
Experience in logistics; organising events or markets for example.
Managing the operation of Saturday and Sunday markets.
Ensuring the storage area is clean and organised.
Ensuring compliance to all Health and Safety Standards.
Communicate the benefits of agroforestry and therefore the aims of the company. Represent the CIC with your conduct and communicate to customers the vision of the company and its underpinning strategy.
